A True Friend

I've known you for years,
Forever, it seems,
And yet, it is only recently,
That we've become close friends.
When I was too shy
To go out on stage and sing,
You gave me the courage to try.
When I needed to talk out my problems,
You listened, and gave me advice.
When I started writing poems,
To let others know how I feel,
You encouraged me to not give up.
Now that you're moving,
Following your dream,
I just want to thank you for being
A true friend,
Indeed.
