Dawn Dark the night, And darker still the skies. Above, no moon emits its light. No star in the heavens shines. Alone against the Dark I stand, alone against the cold. No owls hoot, no dogs bark, I stand as if made of stone. Night's darkest hour, yet nigh the dawn, The sun starts its journey, while The nightingale breaks into song. Listening, I slowly smile. Though the night be cold, seeming infinitely long, It's always darkest just before the dawn.
